12 Months Limited Warranty
- All Doughty Engineering products are covered by statutory warranty for the original purchaser, which assures that the product is fit for use and covered against any manufacturing defects.
- Wear and tear items are excluded from cover.
- The duration of the statutory warranty may vary for the Hire Trade and product type.
- Warranty claims are to be submitted on a monthly basis or when necessary, whereby Doughty Engineering will respond accordingly with a warranty claim report.
- On instruction, failed parts may have to be returned to Doughty Engineering Ltd for evaluation with the appropriate claim.
- No claim will be considered unless serial numbers where applicable on the products are quoted on the claim form.
- Major repairs required on Doughty Engineering products, either structural or fabrication must not be undertaken without prior approval from Doughty Engineering.
- Doughty Engineering will not approve reimbursement of any costs unless a quotation is submitted.
- Where possible, replacement stock parts will be sent by Doughty Engineering and invoiced whilst claims are evaluated.
- All Invoices are to be paid in full according to our terms.
- On acceptance of a claim, a credit will be administered. (Excluding any return haulage, mileage and travel costs accrued, unless alternative arrangements have been made).
- Where necessary other arrangements outside this procedure may be authorised by the management of Doughty Engineering Limited.
Returns Policy
If the goods or any part thereof are defective solely as a result of faulty materials or workmanship of the seller, the seller’s liability shall be limited at its discretion, either to replacing such goods or the defective part thereof ( as the case may be) or to giving the buyer credit or the value thereof, but no such liability shall arise unless notification of any defect is received by the seller in writing within 10 days (United Kingdom) or 30 days (export) from receipt of the goods by the buyer and the allegedly defective goods are thereafter returned to the seller carriage paid.
Goods that are not defective as detailed previously, may be returned within the time frames mentioned above, but they may be subject to a minimum handling charge of 10%.
If goods do need to be returned:
- The customer will have to contact Doughty Engineering via e-mail detailing the original order number, invoice number and the reason for the return.
- A Doughty Goods Return (DGR) number will be issued that must be clearly marked on the boxes that are being returned.
- All carriage costs for the return of the goods must be covered by the customer. This includes taxes and duties in the case of an export return.
- The goods will be inspected, and a credit will be raised, less the handling charge, where applicable.
A credit will not be raised if:
- The goods are not as new and in the original packaging.
- The goods have been used.
- The good have been damaged in return transit.
These goods will be returned to the customer at their expense.
