Projects Department uses Doughty Studio Rail at The Bartlett School of Architecture
When Projects Department Ltd were contracted to kit out a studio for the Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL at Here East, they turned to Doughty Engineering to provide its famous Studio Rail. The room, which will be used by students for motion capture, required a solution for mounting cameras as well as curtains for both privacy and to aid with acoustic absorption.

A strong track system
To complete the job, Projects Department specified some made-to-order IWBs as well as the Studio Rail. Studio Rail is a light and extremely strong track system with several unique features. A pair off our-wheel double swivel carriages allows an adjustable moving rail to be mounted to a pair of fixed parallel rails. The six-wheel carriage with a 28 mm receiver has a SWL of a massive 100 kg. Fitted with a friction brake it stays where it’s put. It can be used for luminaires, monitors, pantographs, and drapes.

Studio Rail 60-Straight Sections-Black
An extruded aluminium studio track available in 2M, 3M, 4M or 6M straight sections. Features a unique joint pin system which aids assembly and joint alignment. The track can be easily cut to size on site if required and there is a drilling jig available to easily re-drill the joint holes accurately (T84260). Ideal for making rolling grids in TV studios.
